In Search of The Fountain of Youth BY: Jackie Silver
When the Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon set out to find the Fountain of Youth he found Florida instead. He wasn’t the first to look for healing waters that could restore youth, either. The legend goes as far back as the time of Alexander the Great, who was reputed to have searched for such waters in eastern Asia. Today, we’re still searching for the magic fountain or pill that will keep us young forever. While there is no “magic” involved, there are ways to look and feel much younger than your chronological age and the sooner you start, the sooner you’ll see results. Here are some tips that almost anyone can use to start making changes that can lead to a healthier, more youthful and vibrant look. Find the right products. Good Housekeeping Research Institute, the laboratory arm of Good Housekeeping Magazine, conducted a study comparing face creams, some of which sell for $100 to $350. The winner? Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. Discover the latest technology. There are plenty of lasers treatments available for a variety of anti-aging results, including skin tightening, age spot removal and collagen building. As your doctor. Smile. The muscles used to smile lift the face and make a person appear younger. Use sunscreen. Apply it on your face, neck, chest and hands. Those are the first places to show your age. Discover the “beauty” of exercise. Among the many benefits of exercise are increased circulation and delivery of nutrients to skin cells. Plus, exercise causes us to sweat, which flushes potentially damaging toxins out of our systems. Following these steps can start you on your way to looking and feeling younger. Remember, It’s never too late - or too early - to start Aging Backwards. Jackie Silver is Aging Backwards and she shares her secrets, tips and shortcuts for looking and feeling young on her Web site, AgingBackwards.com, in her book.
